The University of Essex
Founded nearly 50 years ago, the University of Essex has established a worldwide reputation for top quality teaching and research. Over the past five decades we have grown to more than 11,000 students, including nearly 3,500 postgraduates, who come from 135 different countries to study at one of our three campuses in Colchester, Loughton and Southend. Being a key partner of the Essex Book Festival gives us a unique opportunity to highlight further the rich culture of our region, share and showcase our academic work and engage new audiences, and celebrate creativity by actively supporting emerging and established writers.
Essex County Council Libraries
With 73 branches and 11 mobiles offering a range of services, Essex Libraries is one of the biggest public library services in the country. We have been involved with the Essex Book Festival since its beginnings in 1999. Our on-going participation as a key partner allows us to continue to contribute to the festival’s development and encourage communities to engage with reading and books.
Arts Council England
Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people's lives.
We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries - from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.
