You may notice changes to the Book Festival this year as it takes a new direction. With major support from Arts Council England and local partners, we've become a registered charity and are overseen by a new board of voluntary trustees.

The 2012 programme brings the usual mix of bestselling authors and exciting talent that Festival audiences have come to expect. New additions include book related crafts and writers’ workshops and for younger audiences we’ve teamed up with the Just Imagine Story Centre. Also, best selling teen authors, Anne Cassidy and Karen McCombie will be visiting schools in the county.

Whether you are new to the Festival or one of its many friends, we hope that you’ll find an event to inform, inspire or to just sit back and enjoy.
