For Essex Book Festival 2018, our friends at Chelmsford Theatres are putting on some excellent literary related and book inspired events this March, celebrating reading, writing and the book in all its forms.

Hilarious and heart breaking, The King Lear is Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, but set in a pub. Shifting Sands Theatre has developed a reputation for creating a clown’s eye view of epic tales and classic texts – this inventive retelling mixes slapstick and pathos with warm humour, and is marvellous fun!
