Take a look at the full events programme on our Events List page. Booking links are on each event page.

Whether it’s our launch event featuring poet/novelist Blake Morrison and The Hosepipe Band in the newly refurbished Electric Palace Cinema in Harwich’s Old Town. Or, our Criminally Good Day at Royal Opera House’s High House Production Park in Purfleet-on-Thames, where a giant skeleton puppet will make merry with a posse of contemporary crime-writers.

Take a magical journey into the world of myths, magic and fairy stories at Cressing Temple Barns. Chew the political fat with award-winning Guardian columnist John Crace at Anglia Ruskin University. Savour the delights of The Pleasure Garden at Hylands House with the likes of Radio 4’s Justin Webb.

The county’s libraries are fit to burst with a rich confection of fascinating authors. This Includes British Nigerian author Florence Olájídé talking about her moving memoir Coconut at Basildon Library, best-selling novelist Patrick Gale sharing insights into his latest book Mother’s Boy at Chelmsford Library, and debut novelist Alex Hyde at Corringham Library, who’s lyrical novel Violets has already hit the radio waves to critical acclaim.

You might want to join in the debate of Who Are We Now? at Firstsite Gallery with Jason Cowley, Editor-in-Chief at the New Statesman. Embark on a salty sea-faring journey between Felixstowe and Harwich with storyteller Glenys Newton. Build an orangutan nest with award-winning children’s writer and environmentalist Dr Sarah Pye. Launch into Space with the impressive Essex Steamettes. Or make a start on that long overdue radio play with Robin Brooks, one of the UK’s leading dramatists.

Whatever tickles your fancy, or floats your boat, we’re looking forward to catching up with you in June.
